Bad Food

What is it about restaurants serving all-Filipino cuisine?

In the past 6 weeks alone, I have been invited to dine at two different restaurants. On both occasions, our group went for the eat-all-you-can promo.

Without going into to much details, I'll just say that the food at both restaurants sucked.

We have no complaints about the service, the cleanliness and everything else. It's just the food. They didn't taste great at all. Some of the food also tasted as if they were not prepared using fresh ingredients.

I sincerely hope those two restaurants would improve their offerings for their sake.

  1. I actually had the same experience on several occasions. I love to dine out but there are two restaurants serving filipino dishes with "eat all you can" or "buffet" kind of servings which i really don't like. there's one in trinoma, and the other one along West avenue. They're not the same restaurant by the way. The taste and the food presentation(some food seems overcooked) really sucked. I will not be eating in these restaurants anytime in the foreseeable future.

  2. maybe it's this fad of pinoy this and pinoy that, pinoy everything. sadly the ones selling pinoyness to everybody aren't doing a good enough job at making pinoys look good.

abroad, filipino cuisine is virtually unknown to non-pinoys. mga pinoy chef naman dito sa pilipinas puro pa-sosyal, pa-foreign.

ask a foreigner what's the first thing they think of when they think of filipino food, they say the grossest thing they know: balut!
